Text: (Matt. 28:16-20)
WHO CAN DO IT
Not every one is called to be a missionary. But every one is called to be a witness for the Lord.
MAIN QUALITIES
A good witness should have personal relationship with the Lord. That means :
- (v16) be a disciple
- (v17) " saw Him"
- (v17) "worshipped Him"
WHAT SHOULD BE DO IN GREAT COMMISSION
Lord did not say : "Go! and make them memorise John 3:16" .. or "Go! and make them say a sinner's prayer"
Lord Commanded:
- (v19) Go
- (v19) Make disciples (the ones who are willing to follow Jesus And learn from Him)
- (v19) Baptise them
- (v20) Teach them to observe Christ teaching
WHY DO WE CALL GOD'S NAME
Calling Cod's name means "to call His presence and His authority"
Our God is TriUne God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We humans are created in His image: spirit, soul and body. Our message to the world should include all three parts of our being
WHO IS WITH US
Resurrected Lord. He overcame death. Believe it. Preach it
Patient Lord. (v17) "some doubted" .Lord new doubters. But he did not force them out.. he patiently gave them time to become true faithful followers. Lord is Gracious!
Faithful Lord. (v20) He is with us always. Always means all days: good days and bad days, healthy days and sick days, joyful days and depressed days, days of coming into the world and days of dying .. all days He is with us.
WHAT IS OUR REWARD
It is worth noticing that Lord did not mention any reward.. except for the fact that He is with us. So, being close to the Lord is the greatest reward to His follower and His witness!
It was our last Sunday in Thompson. Our year on this Mission field is over. It was a blessed year! Praise the Lord!
We are praying for the next chapter in our life.
