What is important for Lord's work. A lesson from Thiket

Greetings to all.
This weekend was full!

We had some very much loved visitors: Alexey's sister Katya, her husband Evgen and their daughter came from Saskachewan to spend some time with us. We had a very good time together. Visited Pisew Falls, went for a fishing. Alexey could take Evgen to Thiket Portage community.

Our visit to Thiket: It was the "end-of-boat-season" visit. Perhaps due to Halloween, we had only 2 boys plus Isaac's children for the Sunday School. After we boated home and pulled the boat out of the water. No boat visits to Thiket for a month or so until the lake will be fully frozen and the ice will be thick enough for ice road to be opened. Every year November-December and April-May time is quite difficult because of even more limited access to the Communities here up North. It is a depressing time there. People physically can't go in and out of the community.. except on the train which comes once or twice a week. Please pray for all Remote Communities. Please pray for Edgar and Lena Isaac and their children staying in Thiket.

Our Children flew to Pikcwitonei. Brother Jacob, brother Joshua and our children had a good service with 5 local people in attendance.

On Sunday Service we heard that Lord Jesus touched people. He touched lepers, sinners, children. We are here to be "His hands" by which Lord Jesus could touch people in this world.
As you know, we came to Thompson not only to help missionaries. We came to learn ourselves and experience God's work in our own lives. So often Lord shows us something worth of learning. Talking about missionary Edgar. Edgar is not a great preacher by any stretch. But he shows us one important aspect of any missionary. That is: to be with people, to be for people. Here is a story happened a week or so ago. Boats are everything in the communities. A Boat is a truck, a bus, a family van. Somebody stole a battery from Edgar's boat. His father helped him getting another one. 2 days later stolen battery showed up in Edgar's boat. What happened you asked? Well, one man from the community stole the battery. Another man, a witness, told him "Don't take it. This is Edgar's. His is helping us so much here". The robber said " It is a good battery. Who cares".. But robber's conscience was tormented for several days that Edgar moved into the community and he is helping people so much.. so finally the robber gave up and brought the battery back. And this is it: you can't get this level of relation with local people by just preaching. You have to be with people. You have to be for people. Flying, boating, climbing is not necessarily that important for a Mission work.

May Lord Bless you all.
